Dates & Times
Tuesdays and Thursday, Sept. 30 - Oct. 9, 2008 (2 weeks)
Each instructor led session is 1.5 hours long (1.5 x 4 classes = 6 hours total). Session times are:
- 8:00 am to 9:30 am PDT
- 9:00 am to 10:30 am MDT
- 10:00 am to 11:30 am CDT
- 11:00 am to 12:30 pm EDT
- 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm ADT
- 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm NDT
How the Course Works
The participant joins the instructional session 5 minutes before the course start time. From their computer, they click on a link provided by the instructor. The connection link allows the participant to view the instructor’s computer screen. Next the participant dials the toll free phone number provided to connect to a conference call with the instructor. Participants will be part of a class of students from all over Canada.
Each session is 1.5 hours long, consisting of a welcome, a review and housekeeping, and Simply Accounting business setup and processes. Each session ends with a question and answer period and homework assignment. Each session is recorded and will be provided to the particpants for viewing after each session. The recording is available for participants who miss a class.
The instructor will be available outside of class time to answer questions relating to the homework – it is important to Prism that each participant succeeds.
There is no mandatory exam upon completion. A participation certificate will be issued upon completion of the course. If using this course for professional development acceptable and verifiable hours, a certificate of participation will be issued for: Class attendance (6 hours), Class Assignments completed (8 hours), for a total of 14 credit hours.
Prerequisites
- A basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows® is required
- A prior understanding of debits and credits would be an asset, but is not mandatory
- No previous experience using the Simply Accounting by Sage software is required

Assignments
This course includes 4 assignments that involve setting up a variety of companies. Assignment completion is left to the discretion of the participant. Assignments submitted to the instructor will be reviewed and feedback will be provided. The length of time to complete the assignments will range from 1 to 2 hours each, depending on the participant.

Cost is $249.00 plus GST (12.45) = $261.45. Credit card payments only please. Upon receiving your registration, the instructor will contact you within 24 hours to confirm your registration and to ask you a few questions. Cancellations
You may cancel your registration up to 10 business days before the course start date. If you need to cancel within 10 business days of the course start date, a substitute can take your place. If you do not cancel and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment. A $30 non-refundable cancellation fee applies to refunds.

Sue du Puy has many years of experience developing and instructing courses and providing training to businesses and colleges across Canada. Sue likes to create a relaxed atmosphere in her sessions and encourages open communication with participants. She understands that adults do not all learn in the same way and she adapts her presentation style to ensure that everyone understands the information presented.
We have set up Live Information Sessions for you to talk with Sue and ask questions. The 15-minute Live Information Session will give you a chance to experience how the training sessions work, including linking your computer to the instructor’s computer and calling the toll free number to talk with Sue.
